Gently grasp the thread on the needle with your left hand.
Turn the handwheel on the upper right corner of the sewing machine, usually towards yourself, and turn it a full circle
Move a pair of scissors gently between the presser foot and the cover to pull out the two loops. You should now have two threads, one for the top thread of the needle and one for the bottom thread.
